She Studied Her Face In the Mirror
She studied her face in the mirror. What she saw wasn't what other people saw when they looked at her. Where other people saw a gorgeous girl, she saw someone she couldn't bare to look at. She saw pimples the size of her fingertip where everyone else saw small freckles. She saw someone ugly and unworthy while others saw someone they envy. She narrowed her eyes at her too-big nose and her too-full lips. She wished to look like the other girls while the other girls wished the same about her. She stood for a while just looking and then she stood for a while criticizing herself. The one dimple in her cheek was odd. Her eyelashes grew too close together. Her eye color was too dull. Her cheek bones were too prominent. She studied her face in the mirror and she became angry.

Silk
Your skin is silk. It's soft as I graze my fingertips up and down your arm. Your voice is silk as well, quietly humming in your sleep. The sound sends my mind on a trip of all the things we could experience together. We could be together like this for a long time. Sleep beside each other as we do now. I only wish that time would go slower and things would go on smoothly. As smooth as your skin, as smooth as your voice, as smooth as silk.
